President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the necessity to isolate elements of the Russian system involved in the war and about a very important week for our international positions.
"I wish you good health, dear Ukrainians!
There is another sanctions step taken by our state against the atomic industry of the terrorist state. By my decree, I have put into effect the Security and Defense Council's decision regarding sanctions against 200 individuals working for Russian nuclear power.
We are doing everything to make sanctions against Russia’s nuclear industry a part of global sanctions against Russia for the war.
This is not easy. There is some resistance. But there was a time when other restrictions on Russia seemed impossible too. Now they are in place. For example, regarding Russian oil and petroleum products.
All elements of the Russian system involved in the war, providing terror and financing aggression, must be isolated from the global system. This will happen!
Especially this applies to those who participated in the seizure and illegal actions at our Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Russian radioactive blackmail of the world must be punished.
We will talk about this, among other things, on various diplomatic levels next week.
This will be an important week for our international positions.
We are already preparing for planned communications and negotiations. The diplomatic marathon we started to strengthen military and other support for Ukraine will not be interrupted even for a week.
I would like to personally acknowledge today everyone who is restoring the energy capabilities of our state. This day and yesterday most Ukrainians went through without many power outages.
Of course, in some areas, unfortunately, in some cities there were still limitations. Where the level of destruction was too significant. Naturally, with the start of a new work week we will consume more, so there will be schedules for blackouts. But the fact that after constant terrorist rocket attacks, "shaheds," after this week's massive missile strike we can have such peaceful energy days proves the professionalism of our energy workers and extraordinary selflessness of each person working to ensure the power system.
I thank all Ukrainian energy workers, repair crews, State Emergency Service, municipal services, regional and local authorities who helped. And businesses that joined in relevant work.
We must realize — this is not yet a victory, not decisive on the energy front. Unfortunately, there may be new terrorist strikes from Russia. There may be new limitations if there are new destructions and increased consumption. But today and yesterday — this is another proof that working together and helping each other, Ukrainians do great things.
Therefore, maintain unity! Do not lose any day or week! Everything for Ukraine!
Thank you to everyone who works for our state! Glory to every one of those in battle!
Glory to all defending Bakhmut, Vuhledar, Chasiv Yar, Mariinka, Avdiivka, on all fronts in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and across the entire front line!
Steadfastness, unity, and mutual aid — this is our strength!
Glory to Ukraine!»
