President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the components of our approaching victory and the activation of our diplomacy in several directions.
"I wish you good health, dear Ukrainians!
I held a meeting today. As always, it was substantive, but today there were additional updates for the military after my visit to the United States.
We are preparing for the coming months and the next year in general. Our tasks remain unchanged. This is liberating our land. Security for our people. Restoring our country after Russian strikes. These are components of the Ukrainian victory that we are approaching step by step.
Today at the meeting, we heard from commanders. We see prospects on the front lines. We prepare for various scenarios involving the state-terrorist, and we see its intentions. And we will respond accordingly.
We separately discussed the situation in energy.
I held an important annual meeting with Ukraine's ambassadors today — the entire diplomatic corps of our country received assignments for next year.
We are preparing to activate Ukrainian diplomacy in several directions.
Firstly, this is countries where our influence is currently less than what we need from a national security perspective and the interests of our people. Primarily these are African countries and other parts of the Global South — Latin America, Asian countries, the Pacific region.
This is a huge economic potential as well as significant diplomatic opportunities. For example, during UN General Assembly votes on resolutions that protect our territorial integrity and international law. We will strengthen Ukraine's positions.
The second aspect for Ukrainian diplomacy — this is expanding cooperation with our traditional partners so that next year truly becomes decisive in this war and Ukraine achieves all its goals.
We are preparing to modernize the diplomatic service, we will strengthen Ukrainian embassies.
There was also a non-public part of today's meeting with diplomats — I made several important, sensitive points in my conversation with ambassadors.
I spoke today with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. I am grateful for the new package of support — it is very significant and timely. 2.5 billion euros for Ukraine. Of course, we also discussed our joint actions with the Netherlands next year. We are coordinating steps as much as possible, and I believe there will be a noticeable result, especially in terms of holding accountable all those responsible for this aggression against Ukraine.
And one more thing.
It was an honor to greet Energy Day with those people who together with their colleagues are restoring our systems after Russian strikes. I believe that we should thank more often those who work for the sake of maintaining our well-being and normal life with you. Not political at all. Perhaps not always noticeable to most. But thanks to many such people, Ukraine lives.
In particular, every one who repairs damaged networks and generation while air raid sirens are still going off to quickly provide people with energy — true heroes. Every one who goes into de-occupied and frontline areas to return everything for normal life to the people — true heroes. Every one who stabilizes our energy system day and night, ensuring electricity supply, operation of stations and other energy facilities — all of them together with others who fight and work for Ukraine guarantee Ukraine's future. I thank you for this!
I signed decrees on awarding our military personnel. 215 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been awarded state awards.
Glory to all who defend our country!
Thank you to all partners who help us and together with us achieve victory over tyranny!
And please, remember who is fighting against us. As the holiday season approaches, Russian terrorists may become active again. They disregard Christian values and any values in general. So please pay attention to air raid sirens, help each other, and always protect one another.
And also. Citizens of Russia should clearly understand that terrorism will never go unanswered.
Glory to Ukraine!"
