President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the need to provide our country with a reliable air defense shield and preparing for upcoming international events.

"I wish good health, dear Ukrainians!

The main focus today is energy. We managed to restore electricity to almost six million Ukrainians in just one day. Repair work continues without pause after yesterday's terrorist attack.

Of course, there is still a lot of work to stabilize the system. There are issues with heating supply and major problems with water supply. The most difficult situation is in Kyiv and the region, Vinnytsia and the region, Lviv and the region. But also in many other regions, unfortunately, large-scale blackouts: this includes Dnipro and the region, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa and the region, Poltava Oblast, Ternopil, Chernihiv and other cities and regions.

Russia is not sparing resources in its war against our people — against everyone, every Ukrainian from Lviv to Kharkiv, from Sumy to Odesa. And I am grateful to each leader, I am grateful to each nation — our partners who understand that such massive 'investments' by Russia into terror — imagine this, over 4 thousand rockets! — need to be countered with even greater help for the people against whom this terror is directed.

This week we received important decisions from the EU, from partner countries in Europe, and from the United States of America that will help maintain stability now and next year. This applies to military support, energy, and macrofinance for Ukraine. But there is still more work to be done. There are vital decisions awaiting final approval and implementation.

In particular, I will constantly remind… Dear partners! Find a way to give Ukraine a reliable air defense shield. You can do this. You can provide protection for our people — 100% protection from these terrorist Russian strikes.

When this happens, the main form of Russian terror — missile terror — will simply become impossible. This means security for Ukrainians, security for millions of people and a strategic transformation of the entire war situation. The fewer opportunities Russia has for terror, the more opportunities we have to return and guarantee peace.

We are already preparing for international events planned in the near future — both political ones and broader ones that reach not only traditional political audiences but also all people around the world who value peace and are ready to support our defense against Russian terror. You will see everything.

On Monday, leaders of Northern European countries will meet: this includes the United Kingdom, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Iceland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway. These are our extremely important friends and effective helpers in our defense. So we are preparing several new proposals from Ukraine to strengthen all of us, all European countries.

I thank everyone who helps Ukraine! I am grateful to all our energy workers, everyone involved in heating and water supply, everyone repairing damaged communications after shelling and restoring normal life every time, no matter how hard terrorists try to leave us cold and in darkness. Terrorists lose anyway.

Glory to all who hold back the inferno in Bakhmut and on other fronts in Donetsk!

Glory to all who hold our front line!

Glory to Ukraine!"
