Andriy Pavelko, President of the Ukrainian Football Association and UEFA Executive Committee member, on his page in FB, called upon mourners, football players, coaches, and all representatives of our country's and world football community to share President Volodymyr Zelensky’s peace initiative video.

Unfortunately, this appeal will not be shown before today's 2022 World Cup final match between Argentina and France in Qatar. However, it can still be shared and viewed on millions of screens around the world.

"Today, the whole world will follow football news from Qatar. The eyes of millions and billions of people will be glued to the screen for at least 90 minutes during the match that will determine the champion of the World Cup 2022. But in the time remaining until the game, I call on the Ukrainian football family and the entire world football community, addressing every player, coach, referee, fan, all our Western friends and partners, everyone who loves football and is deeply concerned about Ukraine — support and share President Volodymyr Zelensky’s appeal!

This appeal will either be heard from the screens of stadiums in Qatar or today it will resonate around the world — on the screens of millions and billions of people! This is a call for peace and support for the Global Peace Formula Summit initiated by Volodymyr Zelensky.

As the President emphasized, every father in the world wants to take his son to a football match, while every mother dreams that her son will return from war. So that Ukrainian mothers can wait for their sons after football matches rather than from war, our country's voice must be heard far beyond Qatar. I believe that each Ukrainian and friend of Ukraine today on social media will become part of a living chain to spread President Volodymyr Zelensky’s appeal for peace to the entire world. Join us!
