Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on December 16, 2022 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred and ninety-sixth day of the Russian large-scale invasion has begun.

Over the past day, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled attacks by occupiers in the areas of the populated places Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Ploschan'ka, Chervonopopivka and Bihorivka in Luhansk Oblast, and Grigoriivka, Viimka, Yakovlivka, Siversk, Bahmutseve, Bahmut, Klyshchivka, Andriyivka, Kurdyumivka, Ozyaryanivka, Druzhba, Oleksandropil, Novobahmutivka, Nevelske, Mariinka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast.

During the past day, the enemy carried out 23 air strikes and four missile attacks, two of which were on civilian objects in the city of Kharkiv. The enemy also conducted 78 shelling with multiple rocket launchers. In particular, there was shelling of residential areas, resulting in casualties among civilians.

On the Volynian, Polesian and Northern Directions the situation has not changed significantly; no signs of enemy offensive formations being formed have been detected. The populated places Zapsillya and Popivka in Sumy Oblast were subjected to mortar shelling.

On the Slobozhansky Direction the enemy shelled with tanks and artillery the areas of the populated places Chervona Zorya, Vysoka Yaruga, Krasne, Morokhovec', Starytsia, Dvorichna and Novomlynivsk in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupyansk Direction the enemy carried out shelling with tanks, mortars, field artillery and multiple rocket launchers in the areas of the populated places Vils'hanivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Tabayivka, Kotlyaryvka, Beresteve, Pershotravneve in Kharkiv Oblast and Stelmakhivka and Myasozharivka in Luhansk Oblast.

On the Lyman Direction the enemy shelled the areas of Makieyivka, Ploschan'ka, Chervonopopivka in Luhansk Oblast and Yamopolivka, Tor'skoye and Vedmeyovo in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut Direction the enemy carried out shelling of the areas of populated places. This includes Verkhnyokamyans'ke, Spirene, Bihorivka, Yakovlivka, Siversk, Grigoriivka, Bahmutseve, Bahmut, Klyshchivka, Andriyivka, Kurdyumivka, Ozyaryanivka, Pivnichne and Opitne in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiivsky Direction Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pereymayske, Nevelske, Krasnyhorivka, Georgiyivka, Mariinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast were affected.

On the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson Directions the enemy carried out shelling with tanks, mortars, field artillery and multiple rocket launchers of the areas of populated places Vremyvka, Novopil in Donetsk Oblast; Hulyaypole, Dorozhnyanka, Hulyaypol'ske, Orikhiv and Kamians'ke in Zaporizhzhya; Marhanets and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and Novotyagynka, Ivanivka, Tokaryvka, Ingulets, Prydniprovskoye, Antonivka, Dniprovskoye, Kherson, Bilozerka and Yantarnoe in Kherson Oblast.

According to updated information, on December 14 near the populated place Tokmak in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, forces of defense destroyed up to ten units of military equipment of various types. Nearly 180 Russian servicemen were injured. In Lazurne in Kherson Oblast, up to thirty occupiers were destroyed. Additionally, the work of mobile crematoria by Russians is noted in Tokmak city.

In order to replenish current losses, recruitment of conscripts for contract service continues among enemy forces. In particular, such processes are ongoing in units of the 1st Tank Army of the Western Military District.

The aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out 22 strikes during the past day on areas of concentration of personnel and equipment, weapons and military equipment, as well as three strikes on positions of enemy air defense missile systems.

Our defenders also shot down two Orlan-10 UAVs.

Units of rocket forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit five command posts, four areas of personnel concentration, six artillery positions, two ammunition depots, as well as a depot of pyrotechnic materials.
