Ivano-Frankivsk 'Hurricane' continued their elite round UEFA Champions League football league appearance with a match against Portuguese 'Sporting'. Ivano-Frankivsk 'Hurricane' continued its Elite Round campaign in the Football Champions League with a match against Portuguese 'Sporting'.
In the Elite Round, 16 clubs are divided into four groups of four participants each. By the draw, 'Hurricane' found itself in Group A alongside Portuguese 'Sporting', Serbian 'Loznica-Grad 2018', and Italian 'Eboli'. The quartet's matches are taking place in the Italian city of Avellino. Winners of each of the four groups will advance to the final stage, which will take place in April-May 2023.
In their first match, 'Hurricane' defeated the hosts of the mini-tournament with 'Eboli' — 7:4. Now, Ivano-Frankivsk players faced Portuguese 'Sporting'.
During the match, Maxim Pavlenko's wards fell behind by two goals but managed to catch up. However, the final period remained with the Portuguese who scored another two goals — 2:4.
The final match within the Elite Round will be played on November 26 against Serbian 'Loznica-Grad 2018'.
