In Ukraine, there are 162 thousand children with disabilities, which constitutes 2% of the child population (each year this number increases by 3 thousand). Such children constantly face stigmatization and discrimination. Many of them do not have access to sports activities. There is a noticeable shortage of qualified professionals and inclusive equipment in regions.

Within the framework of UEFA's Mass Football Charter, the Ukrainian Association of Football aims to:

— improve the psycho-emotional and physical state of children through involvement in physical activities and socialization;

— change society's attitude towards people with disabilities;

— provide access to inclusive sports activities;

— unlock children's potential;

— unite children and adults, regardless of physical or mental development characteristics.

Inclusive football sections, which include children with special educational needs, are opening in 21 communities across Ukraine. Thanks to the UAF, these sections are equipped with football uniforms for children, balls, and necessary sports equipment.

We remind you that at the end of August, coaches attended a seminar organized by the UAF in Ivano-Frankivsk, and an organizational online meeting regarding the start of the project took place early November.
