To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on October 8, 2022 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred and twenty-seventh day of heroic resistance against Russia's large-scale invasion has begun.

The enemy is trying to hold temporarily occupied territories, concentrating efforts on attempts to disrupt active operations of the Defense Forces at certain points, while also conducting offensive actions in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

The adversary continues to shell our positions along the entire line of contact, carries out engineering equipment of defense at certain points, and conducts aerial reconnaissance.

The enemy is continuing to violate international humanitarian law, laws, and customs of war, striking critical infrastructure as well as civilian housing.

There remains a threat of the adversary carrying out air and missile strikes across all of Ukraine's territory.

During the day, occupiers carried out seven missile and twelve aerial attacks, conducted nearly 80 shelling with multiple rocket launchers.

More than twenty populated areas were affected by enemy strikes, including Slavgorod, Bilovody, Vuhledar, Ridkodub, Hulyaypole, Novoannivka, Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv.

During the past day, to strike at Ukrainian cities, the enemy also used seven unmanned aerial vehicles of Iranian manufacture Shahed-136. Three were shot down, while four reached the cities of Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv.

To further support military aggression against Ukraine, mobilization is ongoing in the Russian Federation. Local authorities in some regions are trying to implement it at the expense of unemployed men of conscription age, thereby solving an internal problem.

On the Volyn and Polesie directions, there have been no significant changes.

At other points, the enemy carried out shelling:

on the Northern direction — with mortars and artillery in the areas of the populated places of Bleshnya, Hay and Senkivka Chernihiv region and Starikove Sumy region;

on the Sloboda direction — with tanks, mortars, artillery of various types in the areas of 18 populated places, including Hlybokoye, Udi, Ogireve, Strilecha, Kolodyazhne, Dvoriche, Neskuchnoye;

on the Kramatorsk direction — with artillery of various types in the areas of populated places Spirdne, Bihorivka, Verkhnyokamyanske, Rozdolvka, Serbyanka, Hryhorivka, Dronivka, Veselye.

On the Bakhmut direction, the enemy shelled areas of populated places Yakovlivka, Solorad, Bakhmut, Bakhmutskoye, Ivangrad, Opitne, Mayor'sk, New York, Viyimka, Rozdolvka, Veselye and Otradivka.

On the Avdiivka direction, areas of Avdiivka, Krasnogorivka, Pervomaysk and Novomykhailivka were affected by fire.

On the Novopavlivsk and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations. Infrastructure in areas of 16 populated places was damaged by enemy fire. Among others, this includes Vremivka, Temirovka, Olhyvske, Hulyaypole and Zaliznychnye.

On temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region, the enemy is trying to intensify measures to discredit units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. To create fake content, additional special correspondents from Russian media are being involved.

On the Southern Bug direction, areas of over 27 populated places near the line of contact were shelled with tanks, mortars, artillery of various types.

The enemy actively involves UAVs of various types for reconnaissance and to deliver strikes. During the past day, our defenders shot down eight UAVs at different points: five of type "Orlan-10" and three of type Shahed-136.

Units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks in areas of populated places Viyimka, Bakhmutskoye, Krasna Gora, Bakhmut, Mayor'sk, Ozerianivka, Zaytseve, Otradivka, Andriyivka, Pervomaysk, Krasnogorivka, Veselye, Kam'yanka, Pobeda, Nevelske, Novomykhailivka and Ternevo Podi.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to keep under fire control the enemy's logistics objects and supply routes. During the past day, another pontoon bridge of the enemy was destroyed. In addition, information about the destruction of ammunition stockpiles of the enemy near the populated place Kinski Rozdori on October 5 this year has been confirmed.

Units of the enemy continue to suffer losses. Thus, in areas of populated places Pologi and Tokmak Zaporizhzhia region as a result of shelling by units of the Defense Forces of concentrations of enemy manpower, the enemy lost about 85 people wounded. Information on the dead is being verified.

In Luhansk region to the local hospital in Novosvitlivets delivered nearly 300 injured individuals from among those who agreed to fight on Ukrainian territory.

The aviation of the Defense Forces during the past day carried out 30 strikes. It was confirmed that 24 locations of weapons and military equipment concentration, as well as six air defense missile systems of the enemy were hit. In addition, units of anti-aircraft defense shot down two enemy helicopters.

Rocket troops and artillery over the past day damaged two command posts, one area of manpower concentration, weapons and military equipment, two areas of artillery firing positions, a radar station and an electronic warfare complex of the enemy.
