The President of Ukraine thanked the UEFA president for supporting our athletes and his unwavering principled stance, as well as for assisting in the relaunch of the Ukrainian Premier League. During the conversation, they also discussed the possibility of UEFA's help in freeing our military prisoners among athletes, first and foremost through their public support.
Vladimir Zelensky also expressed solidarity with UEFA President Alexander Ceferin in his opposition to what is called the European Super League. "In this context, I hope that attitudes similar to those behind the so-called European Super League will be leveled out, as the essence of football is also about hope, solidarity and joy, and this is more than money, more than privileges for a few individuals," reads the letter sent by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin following their phone call.
