The match between the Faroe Islands and Ukraine in the women's team qualification for the 2023 World Cup will take place today, September 2nd, at Torshavn Stadium "Torshovur" in the city of Tórshavn and is scheduled to start at 8 PM Kyiv time. Unfortunately, our national team has lost its chances to compete for a spot at the tournament, but according to head coach Luis Cortes, they will make every effort to secure third place in the group by defeating the Faroese.

"Currently, the Faroese team is better than they were last year when Ukraine played against them. This is a well-organized team that defends with many players around their penalty area. We will have to play very quickly and precisely in order to create opportunities and score," — noted the Spanish coach.

Nine teams that finish second in their groups will participate in the play-offs, which consist of two stages.

The top three among the second-placed teams will have a chance to compete directly at the second stage. Six participants from the first round will fight for three spots in one-off matches. The three winners of the first round and the three teams that qualified directly to the second stage will battle it out in one-off matches to determine the top three finishers of the UEFA play-offs.

The two winners from the second stage of the UEFA play-offs with the highest ranking (criteria applied to group stage results plus the second round play-off) will earn two automatic spots at the World Cup, while the third-place winner will proceed to the intercontinental play-offs.
