A week ago, in the home leg of the Champions League playoff round in Łódź, the blue-and-whites lost to Benfica with a score of 0-2. Now Dynamo are playing the away leg against Roman Yaremchuk's team in Lisbon. It should be noted that Mircea Lucescu could not count on injured players Popov and Tsygankov today.

The first half was dominated by the home side, while Kyivans regularly lost possession and made mistakes. On the 12th minute, Bushchan saved Otamendi's shot from a corner kick; later, Grimaldo hit the post with a penalty, and Neres failed to beat Dynamo’s goalkeeper with an overhead kick.

On the 27th minute, the Portuguese finally took the lead in the score — after a corner kick Neres delivered, Otamendi sealed the far post. At the end of the half, Lisbon scored twice more. First, Rafa Silva intercepted an unsuccessful pass from Syrota and fired into the net; shortly afterwards, Neres finished off a quick counterattack with a precise shot from the left.

After halftime, Bushchan reacted to Neres's shot from the penalty area on the 63rd minute. Later, Sidorchuk nearly scored "over the goalkeeper" for Benfica from midfield; then Neres moved into the center and hit just wide of the post.

Afterwards, the hosts created several more opportunities but could not beat Bushchan. In summary, the blue-and-whites lost with a score of 0-3. After exiting the Champions League, Kyivans will continue their journey in the group stage of the Europa League, whose draw will take place on August 26.
