President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, outlining the main task of our state and detailing significant losses suffered by Russian occupiers.

"Ukrainians! Ukrainian women!

All our defenders, all our defender women!

Today in our country we celebrate two important professional holidays — Navy Day of Ukraine and Air Defense Forces Day. I sincerely congratulate all the defenders and defender women of Ukraine who serve in these forces, I congratulate all veterans of the fleet, all air defense veterans. Thanks to your service and bravery thousands of lives have been saved.

Russian occupiers suffered significant losses both at sea and in the sky. Such losses they haven't experienced for decades. Once again thank you for your service!

The main task of the state — to ensure that our heroes, our soldiers from all branches of the military have everything necessary to defend the country, modern weapons. This is not easy, it requires a lot of effort, it involves numerous negotiations, but we will secure such supply. Ukraine will reach a level where the occupiers' firepower advantage will be neutralized. We are not wasting any day — convincing partners, establishing new ties, using all possibilities — political, diplomatic, informational...

Today Russian army for the third time brutally shelled Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Kharkiv with multiple rocket launchers, Smerch systems. Already six people are dead in Sloviansk, nearly twenty — injured. A girl died, her name was Eva. In August this year she would have turned 10...

Russia has enough "Smerchs", "Uragans", "Grad" to destroy cities one by one in Ukraine. They've amassed their largest firepower on the Donbas front now. And they can use tens of thousands of artillery shells daily on a single frontline sector. This is reality. Therefore, we are destroying occupiers' potential — day after day, calculated, powerfully. And, of course, systems HIMARS and other weapons from partners play an important role in this. No less significant is the fact that we cherish lives of our soldiers, our people. We will build walls, reclaim land, but people must be protected above all.

And if command of our army withdraws people from certain points on the frontline where the enemy has the greatest firepower advantage — for example, this applies to Lysychansk as well — it means only one thing: that we will return thanks to our tactics, thanks to increasing supply of modern weapons.

Ukraine is giving nothing away. And when someone there in Moscow reports on the Lugansk region — let them recall their statements and promises before February 24, in the first days of this invasion, in spring and now. Let them realistically assess what they have for this time and how much they paid for it. Because today's their statements will go up in smoke just like then. Gradually we are moving forward — both on Kharkiv region and in Kherson oblast, at sea: Zmiinyi Island is a good example of that. There will come a day when we can say the same about Donbas.

Today Kyiv was visited by Australia's Prime Minister. A historic moment. And this is a very important visit. Australia — one of the top countries if you assess the level of its support. We have already received significant military aid from it. Today Mr Prime Minister announced a new package of support. I am grateful to him for that. Also, Australia will strengthen sanctions against Russia. This — is a result of our constant activity which increases costs for Russia of this war.

Russian economy found itself in the greatest crisis in 50 years. The world is refusing ties with Russia. Words "collapse", "deficit" and "poverty" — these will describe Russian life as long as this state wants to be a terrorist state.

They have lost over 35,000 soldiers killed, and that's still a conservative estimate. And for what all of this? For the sake of some godforsaken propagandists showing Russian or Soviet flag on ruins... There is no other answer.

For everyone in the world — and I am sure, for all decent people in Russia itself — it's clear that Ukraine will win. This is just a matter of time. It's a question of losses we will suffer, primarily human ones. It's a question of modern weapons which we have to get and definitely will.

Tomorrow — conference in Switzerland dedicated to rebuilding Ukraine. Today in Kyiv I met with the President of the International Olympic Committee, and one of his initiatives — is convening a special conference for raising funds on restoring Ukrainian sports infrastructure... Such and many other international initiatives simply wouldn't exist if the world doubted our victory.

Therefore, we need to work concentratedly further, fight and beat occupiers until we return entire country back to ourselves. Ukraine will be free.

I am grateful to everyone who defends the state!

Glory to Ukraine!"
