President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about a special session of the UN Security Council and the imminent responsibility for Russian killers in acts of terrorism.
"Ukrainians! Ukrainian women!
All our defenders!
I have just participated in a special session of the UN Security Council convened at Ukraine's request. Convened by Albania, which holds the presidency in the Security Council. We engaged all international channels to hold Russia accountable for state terrorism. For everything done by the Russian army against Ukrainians in Kremenchuk, Ochakiv, Lysychansk, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and many other cities of Ukraine. As of this evening, the total number of Russian missiles that hit our cities is already 2811. And how many more aerial bombs, how many artillery shells...
The UN Security Council today stood in tribute to the memory of all Ukrainians killed by the Russian army on our land. Members of the Russian delegation looked around at everyone present in the Security Council hall and also decided to stand up — simply so as not to appear openly as killers. But everyone knows that this is exactly Russian terror, it is the Russian state killing innocent people in a war waged against the Ukrainian people.
I called on the UN to use already existing mechanisms of its charter to stop Russian manipulations within the organization's structures and to create a special tribunal for investigating the actions of Russian occupiers on Ukrainian soil.
Law enforcement agencies and intelligence services of Ukraine are doing everything to identify all Russian military personnel responsible for terror against our cities. The surnames, faces, and all information about each of these terrorists will be known to the world. None of them will escape responsibility, and personal sanctions for these individuals will not suffice. A court verdict and prison — this is the minimum they deserve.
And separately, I want to say something about the responsibility of those Russian propagandists who lie about this terror, who try to justify the actions of the Russian army. Each one of you will also be punished. We have all the evidence of what Russian troops are doing against our people.
Today I want to conclude this address with one such piece of evidence — so that no one dares to lie about the missile strike on a shopping center in Kremenchuk. The Russian missile hit exactly this object, deliberately. Clearly, there was an order for this. Clearly, these coordinates were received by Russian killers for this missile. They wanted to kill as many people as possible in a peaceful city, in an ordinary shopping center. This is how it happened in Kremenchuk.
And for this act of state terrorism, as well as for all others, Russia will be held accountable. On the battlefield in Ukraine, through increased sanctions and definitely — in a tribunal.
I am grateful to everyone who is defending Ukraine. I signed an order today awarding our heroes. Another 314 participants in combat operations have been awarded state honors.
Eternal glory to our defenders!
Glory to Ukraine!"
