President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the visit of leaders from four European countries and about the daily heroism of our army.

"Ukrainians and Ukrainian women!

All our defenders, defenderesses!

Today is truly a historic day — Ukraine felt the support from four powerful European countries. And, in particular, the support for our movement towards the European Union. Italy, Romania, France and Germany — they are with us. All four leaders — Mr. Draghi, Mr. Johannis, Mr. Macron, and Mr. Scholz — support Ukraine's candidacy.

Of course, all relevant procedures must be followed, all countries — members of the EU must join in. But today’s meeting was a big step forward. For me it was important to hear from leaders another fundamental thing — they agree that the end of war and peace for Ukraine should be exactly as Ukraine sees them. As our people see them.

Grateful to Italy for principled political support, macro-financial and military aid. We now have historically best relations — and I am sure we can do a lot more for our peoples.

Grateful to Romania for military assistance, for facilitating the transit of our goods, especially grain. Agreed to increase export capacity through Romanian territory.

France will provide additional Caesar artillery systems. This is very important for our defense. Also today President Macron openly spoke about how European support for Ukraine must be such that it truly feels like we are together defending common values, defending Europe.

Germany confirmed the provision of air defense systems to our country and further support.

By the way, when today’s four leaders arrived in Kyiv, this coincided with the beginning of an air raid warning. Russia created such a backdrop so that everyone heard those sirens, to make the atmosphere tense. But no one was scared, and this only inspired us more to be as specific as possible and agree for our interests — for all Ukrainians and for all in Europe.

Today I personally thanked Chancellor Scholz for inviting me to the meeting of G7 leaders. Overall my impression from the meeting is positive. All leaders understand why peace talks are not happening now. Exclusively because of Russia's position, which tries only to scare everyone in Europe and continue destroying our country. Not seeking a path to peace — they do not want it. This is an aggressor, he must decide for himself first that the war needs to be ended.

We will continue fighting until we guarantee full security and territorial integrity of our state.

Today we talked about preparing a new sanctions package against Russia. We talked about overcoming the food crisis provoked by Russia. Renewing the export of Ukrainian agricultural products is vital for dozens of countries. And there is only one reason why the food crisis became possible at all — Russia is to blame, and no one else. All leaders already acknowledge this.

We talked about rebuilding Ukraine after the war — we have very specific views from our partners on this.

I believe it’s not a coincidence that today there was an escalation of the situation with gas in Europe — prices jumped again. Russia deliberately did this, deliberately limited supplies to harm Europe and hit Europeans.

"Gazprom" is simply tightening the gas chain into which they tried for so long to tie up Europe. And this is another argument in favor of why Europe must already transition to living without Russian gas. There should be no such dependence.

Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow there will also be a lot of news for Ukraine, and I believe it will be positive. Very much so. Once again emphasize that all this is possible primarily thanks to our heroes, thanks to each one who defends us from Russian troops.

Today, the Ukrainian army fights under conditions of significant quantitative superiority of the enemy — in terms of technology and artillery systems. To fight in such conditions — it's a daily feat. We do everything we can to give our heroes modern and powerful weapons. And I am proud of all who have been holding back the occupier and repelling all attacks for 113 days of full-scale war.

Thanks only to the bravery of Ukrainians, Ukrainian women Europe is creating this new history of freedom and finally removing the "gray zone" between the EU and Russia on the East. Ukraine has come closer to the European Union than ever before in its entire independence.

Eternal glory to all who fight for Ukraine!

Eternal memory to those whose lives were taken by these occupiers!

Glory to Ukraine!"
