President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the need for daily informational support for our country and the hottest points of confrontation on the Donbas.

"Ukrainians! Ukrainian women!

I wish you good health!

Today was a busy day. A day of important communication, important meetings.

Greeted journalists on their professional holiday. The word "holiday" sounds very unnatural during wartime, but it is precisely on June 6th every year that greetings are given to people from whom we all undoubtedly depend. On the information they spread. On the speed with which they work.

Of course, this year we do not celebrate. But we still congratulate. We still mark the contribution of journalists and women journalists in Ukraine and everyone who makes the work of the media possible: operators, engineers, editors, photojournalists, producers, and all those without whom there would be no broadcasts or functioning websites. These are people who hold the information front and for whose efforts I am grateful on behalf of all of us, all Ukrainians.

Awarded today correspondents and media workers who work at war right now. Also awarded to relatives of those whose lives were taken by the war.

32 media workers have died since February 24th. In this list are different biographies, personal stories. Not only citizens of Ukraine. Today during a special ceremony in the Office of the President we remembered each one, each of them. We honored their memory with a moment of silence.

Spoke today with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Informed him about the situation on the battlefield, our capabilities and key current dangers primarily in Donbas and southern regions of Ukraine. Thankful to Prime Minister Boris Johnson for full understanding of our needs and readiness to provide Ukraine exactly the weapons we need to protect our people's lives.

Also spoke with President of Poland Andrzej Duda. Of course, about military support for Ukraine. This is an obligatory topic for every one of my talks. And I am grateful to those partners who act quickly and do not delay their decisions. I am grateful to Poland.

Also discussed with Andrzej the issue of candidate status for Ukraine, this is a key political question right now. We are expecting a decision from the European Union regarding our application for candidate status in the coming weeks. I believe that this will be a decision not only about Ukraine but also about the future of the entire European project. About whether it truly has a future as a strong union.

Preparing for another wave of appeals and communication with political and expert communities around the world to ensure our country receives the support we need. This is an ongoing process — maintaining attention, which cannot be paused even for a moment.

And this truly applies to everyone. Every modern person well knows how mass media work. To keep attention on one topic over a long period of time is very difficult. So that the attention to Ukraine does not diminish, to our fight for freedom, each and every one must continue talking about what is happening. Spread information, please support our needs.

Of course, this primarily applies to journalists. And today, by the way, I would like to wish them not to confine themselves to our internal Ukrainian context. The more that is said about Ukraine in the world, the sooner we will be able to end the war and free our land.

Of course, this applies to all representatives of state and Ukrainian politics as well. Work for our defense. In unity and with full force.

But do not forget that business, culture, and ordinary people can also do a lot to keep Ukraine in the global spotlight.

A simple example. Today I was given stamps issued by Spain in support of Ukraine. It seemed like a stamp could change anything? But it is a symbol of attention to our struggle that millions will see.

Creating such symbols, encouraging the creation of such symbols, talking about Ukraine and encouraging conversations about Ukraine — this is what will help us in negotiations with representatives of states for specific important aid that Ukraine needs today.

Our heroes are not giving up positions in Severodonetsk. Street battles are ongoing in the city. Lysychansk, Sloviansk, Bakhmut, Svyatogorivka, Avdiivka, Kramatorsk and other areas of Russian strikes — these are today's hottest points of confrontation.

The Russian army is trying to engage additional forces on the Donbas front but 103 days in — and Ukraine's Donbas stands firm. Stands strong. We do everything for defense, also on the Zaporizhzhia direction and Mykolaiv as well. I am grateful to everyone who withstands the powerful pressure of the occupiers and defends our country.

17,864 participants in combat operations have been awarded state awards of Ukraine since February 24th. This number fully demonstrates the scale of heroism of our people as a response to Russia's full-scale invasion. Signed a new decree today on awarding our military personnel. 121 soldiers were honored with awards, 32 posthumously.

Eternal glory to all who gave their lives for Ukraine!

Eternal glory to all our heroes!

Glory to Ukraine!"
