Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on April 20, 2022 regarding the Russian invasion into our country.

The fifty-sixth day has begun of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people against the Russian military invasion.

A full-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine is ongoing. The enemy continues to attempt advancing operations in the Eastern Operational Zone with the goal of establishing complete control over the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The adversary does not cease delivering rocket-bomb strikes on military and civilian infrastructure across the entire territory of Ukraine.

On the Volyn and Polesie Directions the enemy did not conduct active operations. There remains a threat of Russian aviation delivering rocket-bomb strikes on objects within Ukraine's territory using Belarusian territory, airfield network, and airspace.

Certain units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus continue to carry out tasks for covering the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in Brest and Gomel regions. They are conducting engineering equipment of positions and observation posts.

On the Northern Direction signs of the enemy forming an assault grouping to resume offensive operations have not been detected. The defense of the Ukrainian-Russian border sector is being carried out by the adversary in a reinforced regime. Engineering equipment of strongpoints in areas adjacent to Ukraine continues.

On the Slobozhansky Direction the enemy is conducting redeployment and replenishment of reserves. Partial blockading of Kharkiv and shelling of the city continue.

On the Izium Direction the enemy attempted an advance towards Sulyvka, Dibrivna. The adversary attempts to conduct aerial reconnaissance along the lines of advance using unmanned aerial vehicles "Orlan-10."

On the Donetsk and Tavriysky Directions Russian occupiers continue conducting shelling of our troops' forward positions and searching for weak spots in defense across the entire line of contact. Combat operations are ongoing in areas around populated places Kremennaya, Toriskiy, and Zelena Dolina. The enemy is redeploying with the aim of further advancing towards the populated place Lyman.

The adversary attempts to conduct an advance aimed at penetrating deeper into the populated place Popasna. After Russian occupiers' assault attempts in Rubizhne and Severodonetsk, nearly 130 wounded enemy servicemen were transported to a local hospital in Novoaidar. The exact number is being clarified.

On the Donetsk Direction, the enemy conducted storming operations around the populated place Mariinka.

The main efforts of the adversary are focused on capturing the city of Mariupol and continuing storming operations in the area of the Azovstal plant.

The enemy is conducting combat operations around populated places Velika Novosilka, Rivnopil, and Storozhove. Continuing to provide logistical support for troops.

On the South Buzhsky Direction the main efforts of the adversary are focused on holding occupied positions, conducting shelling of our troops' positions. Conducting combat operations around the populated place Oleksandrivka.

In the future, Russian occupiers will continue to exert fire influence on our troops' positions and conduct combat operations aimed at advancing into administrative boundaries of Kherson region.

From Kharkiv region to a permanent location (populated place Soloty in Belgorod region) through heavy losses, the occupiers withdrew a battalion tactical group of the 237th tank regiment of the 3rd motorized rifle division of the 20th combined arms army of the Western Military District for restoration.

In the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions over the past day, ten attacks by Russian occupiers were repelled, twelve tanks, twenty-eight units of armored vehicles, and two units of automotive equipment were destroyed, one artillery system was destroyed.

By the Air Force Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the previous day nine aerial targets were hit: one aircraft, one helicopter, six UAVs of various types, and a cruise missile.
