Today, I want to address all our friends and partners of our nation.

And tell you what is happening.

Despite many forecasts, Russia has failed to break through our defenses neither in three nor in thirty days. On the contrary.

Our soldiers have inflicted massive losses on the enemy and disrupted his plans. Russia alone lost nearly 19 thousand soldiers killed. Also, 150 aircraft, 135 helicopters, 700 tanks, and almost 1,900 armored vehicles.

Russian occupiers have been pushed back from our capital—Kyiv. The liberation of Russian troops from the Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions is nearing completion.

But the situation remains extremely complicated, especially in the south and east of our country. Russia is concentrating its forces for a powerful attack.

Ukraine has won the first round of the war when intense contact battles were waged with the use of paratroopers, infantry, and armored vehicles. Because our army is well trained and extraordinarily motivated. One of our fighters is worth ten Russians.

We have managed to stop Russia in part due to the weapons we received from partners. I want to thank them for this.

However, Russia has drawn conclusions and changed tactics. It is turning the conflict into a protracted phase and another form.

The number of contact battles is decreasing. The enemy is carrying out missile strikes, using aviation, massively employing rocket systems and long-range artillery. Destroying our peaceful cities. Attacks are being carried out from Russian territory, Belarus, as well as the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.

Under these conditions, the war transitions into a phase of resource competition. Which Russia has almost infinite compared to Ukraine. To win in such a war, we need different help than what we have received so far.

We want to liberate occupied territories as quickly as possible. Because the whole world saw the atrocities committed by the Russian army in Bucha and other suburbs of Kyiv. We must save our people from genocide.

For this, we need different weapons.

Firstly, anti-aircraft defense systems and combat aircraft are needed to protect our citizens and army from missiles and air strikes.

Secondly, long-range artillery is required. This includes Long-Range Artillery Missile complexes, Rocket Systems with Multiple Launchers (RSZO), and heavy artillery. This will allow us to keep the enemy at bay, preventing them from approaching our cities.

Thirdly, we need tanks and armored vehicles to break through the occupiers' defenses and liberate occupied territories.

Fourthly, anti-ship missiles are needed. To destroy the enemy fleet and unblock ports on the Black Sea. Because without ports, we cannot trade, including food supplies. This would cause a global food crisis.

Fifthly, reconnaissance and strike drones are required.

There is also an important nuance.

Earlier, we focused on obtaining Soviet-era weapons. This was a logical decision as this equipment can be put into battle immediately, and we know how to use it. It will quickly strengthen our defense during the critical period.

However, there is little of the Soviet weaponry we need. Often it is in poor condition because it was manufactured 30-40 years ago. There are insufficient ammunition supplies for it. Under these conditions, the Soviet weapons received by us will only strengthen Ukraine temporarily.

Therefore, Ukraine must receive NATO-standard weapons as soon as possible. This is the best solution from many perspectives.

Firstly, this would be a powerful signal to Russia that it won't succeed in exhausting the Ukrainian army. On the contrary—the cost of war for Moscow will rise dramatically. The Ukrainian army will be able to mount an effective resistance. This is the best incentive for de-escalation and peace talks.

Secondly, this would significantly increase interoperability between the Ukrainian army and armies of European countries. It would also greatly strengthen NATO's eastern flank. I am sure no one doubts that Ukraine can be a donor to European security. We have proven it. Investments in our army are the best investments in defense imaginable.

Thirdly, NATO-standard equipment is readily available and well-supplied with ammunition. For example, 155mm artillery is used in various countries. There won't be a shortage of shells as there would be for Soviet systems. This will be not a short-term but a systemic solution.

Fourthly, many countries can transfer this equipment in different ways. Some are removing the needed systems from active service and replacing them with more modern ones. Others just need permission from the producing country.

Ukrainian soldiers will quickly master new weapons. They have already shown that they can use Western complexes very effectively under combat conditions. Proof of this is the enemy's losses I mentioned at the beginning.

We urge to provide us with heavy weaponry as soon as possible.

Russian leaders are military criminals. This is recognized by all. Having suffered a military defeat, they will immediately relinquish power.

We do not fear Russia and can defeat it. We want to destroy the killers, rioters, and looters who have brought us unrelenting pain.

This is an opportunity for the world to rid itself of brutal tyranny.

Delaying the provision of weapons leads to the deaths of our children and the exhaustion of our country. It also exhausts Europe.

We must act. If we do not stop the Kremlin, it will come for you.

Thank you all.

Glory to Ukraine!»
