General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: operational information regarding the Russian invasion (as of 06:00 07.04.2022)

Note for your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on April 7, 2022, regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

The forty-third day has begun of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people against the Russian military aggression.

The Russian Federation continues to wage a large-scale armed aggression against our state. The main efforts of the occupiers are focused on preparing for an offensive operation in Eastern Ukraine, with the goal of establishing full control over the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The enemy continues active operations on the Slobozhansky, Donetsk, Southern Buzoksky, and Tavriysky fronts.

On the Slobozhansky front, the enemy is still blocking the city of Kharkiv and conducting artillery shelling.

On the Donetsk and Tavriysky fronts, the enemy continues to shell the populated area of Popasna with artillery. The goal is to inflict fire damage on units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to resume an advance towards Rubizhne, Novoazovsk, and Novobakhmutivka. Also, the occupiers unsuccessfully attempted to break through the defense of our troops' units in the area of the populated place of Novotoshkivske.

On the Southern Buzoksky front, the enemy is defending previously occupied positions and using measures to restore combat readiness of its units. Also, it continues to conduct harsh filtration procedures in temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region.

Part of the withdrawn Russian units are deployed in tent settlements on the territory of several regions of the Russian Federation bordering with Ukraine. Military personnel refuse to participate in further combat operations on Ukrainian territory. The moral-psychological state of the mentioned manpower is low and has a tendency to deteriorate.

The command of the armed forces of the Russian Federation continues searching for ways to resolve the problem of replenishing their units with human resources. Russian military commissariats have intensified work with reservists who were released from military service after 2012 and have military-specialized professions such as driver, mechanic-driver, scout, as well as junior commanders. The official reason for calling them to military boards is conducting preparatory training according to the specified military specialties for a period of three months. Also, on the territory of so-called Transdniestrian Moldovan Republic, corresponding propaganda work is being carried out with the population that has Russian citizenship.

The occupiers continue to carry out violent actions towards the civilian population in temporarily occupied territories. They are forcibly evacuating the population from the city of Mariupol to temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk region.

By the grouping of Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the previous day, three air targets were hit: a cruise missile, a UAV and a combat aircraft. Aviation of the Air Force continued to deliver rocket-bombardment strikes against enemy troops.

We will report on the general losses of the enemy in a separate bulletin somewhat later.

We believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine! Together we will win! Glory to Ukraine!
