The Championship of the Donetsk Region in mini-football has started in Kyiv for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. For almost five years, teams from Donbas have gathered on one field again.

The holding of the tournament became possible thanks to the support of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF), which helped the Donetsk Region Football Association to resume competitions for teams in the region. At the opening ceremony, the participants were greeted by UAF General Secretary Igor Gryshchenko and First Deputy Head, Executive Director of GSC "ADFDO" Oleg Zubarev.

Eight teams are competing for the trophy: "CPD" (Kostyantynivka), "Concord" (Druzhkivka), "Sparta" (Dobropillya), "Shakhtar" (Pokrovsk), "Kolos" (Donetsk region), "Mariupol" (Mariupol), "Locomotiv" (Lyman) and "Wings of Donbas" (Donetsk region).

Such tournaments are the best proof that football in Donbas is alive, regardless of anything.
