The main goal of such events is to establish an open dialogue between referees, coaches, and players, to form a common understanding of the interpretation of the Laws of the Game, as well as to acquaint teams with the new amendments that came into effect before the start of the new season.

The first club to initiate such a meeting was a newcomer to the Ukrainian Premier League — FC Chornomorets (Odessa). The event took place on July 17, 2026, at the training base in Soviyony with the participation of players and coaching staff led by head coach Roman Hryhorchuk.

The instructor of the Referees Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association Viktor Dordo presented a detailed review of changes to the Laws of the Game for the 2026/2027 season. During the presentation, supplemented with video clips, key amendments were discussed, including:

— new requirements regarding quick restarts after throw-ins and goal kicks;

— updated procedures for substitutions;

— changes concerning a player remaining on the field after receiving medical attention when the opponent who committed an infringement did not receive disciplinary punishment;

— practical aspects of applying new provisions of the Laws of the Game and their impact on organizing and conducting matches.

The participants actively engaged in discussions, asked questions, and exchanged opinions regarding the practical application of the updated Laws of the Game. Representatives of the club emphasized the importance of such events as a common understanding of the interpretation and application of the Laws of the Game contributes to increased discipline on the football field, mutual respect, and constructive cooperation among all match participants.

On July 20, 2026, an analogous meeting was held at the training base of FC Left Bank (Kyiv) with the participation of players and coaching staff led by head coach Oleksandr Ryabokon.

The same day, in a remote format using the Zoom platform, an online meeting took place with players and coaching staff from FC Polissya (Zhytomyr), led by head coach Ruslan Rotan.

Since the team is preparing for the new season outside Ukraine and is getting ready to participate in international matches, this format allowed timely acquainting footballers and coaches with the latest changes to the Laws of the Game.

The Referees Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association will continue to hold similar meetings with clubs from the Premier League. Openness to dialogue, mutual understanding, and honesty remain the main principles of cooperation between referees and the football community. A shared vision and common understanding of the Laws of the Game are a guarantee of quality refereeing, fair sportsmanship, and successful conduct of the 2026/2027 season.
