"School Ball" is a revamped format of the "Leather Ball" tournament, through which generations of Ukrainian footballers have passed. In different years, participants in the tournament included Taras Stepanenko, Artem Dovbik, Illia Zabarnyi, Andriy Lunin, Georgiy Sudakov, Mykhailo Mudryk and others.

After its relaunch, "School Ball" is rapidly gaining popularity. If in the first season a thousand schools and 15 thousand students participated, then this year, in the second season, the massiveness indicators have tripled: 3 thousand schools and 50 thousand students – boys and girls not older than those born in 2014. The importance of the "School Ball" project was highlighted in an interview by First Vice President of the Ukrainian Football Association Artem Stoyanov.

The "School Ball" season for 2025/2026 started in October. After overcoming several preliminary stages, 22 top teams reached the decisive stage. Each team represents a separate school, the winner of their regional tournament. 

Matches of the final part began on May 17 and will continue until May 20. Venue: Vynnyky (Lviv region), Bogdan Khmelnytsky Street, 9B (base of FC "Rukh").

After the end of "School Ball," all participants in the final tournament will have an opportunity to attend the final match of the Ukrainian Cup between Dynamo and Chernihiv, which will take place on May 20.
