Today, on October 25 in the city of Senec at the eponymous stadium, a friendly match between the national women's teams of Slovakia and Ukraine will take place (kickoff at 6:00 PM Kyiv time).

"Our closest opponents — the Slovak and Romanian teams — are progressing, playing themselves and allowing their rivals to do so as well. They try to cherish the ball and are dangerous in transition phases. So it will be interesting to observe our opponents on meeting courses. I am convinced that these confrontations will benefit us and will be valuable for information. For various reasons, I won't immediately have 11 players from the main squad... The whole team. It's unfortunate that literally at the last moment, Elizaveta Molydukh and Viktoriya Hryin ended up in the infirmary," — said head coach of Ukraine's women's national team Volodymyr Pyatenko the day before.

The match between Slovakia and Ukraine will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF).

We remind you that in the last League of Nations tournament, Ukraine played in League B, managing to secure promotion to League A at the end of the campaign. With four wins, one draw, and one loss, the blue-and-yellow team scored 13 points, tying with the Czech Republic but having an advantage in head-to-head matches. The group also included Croatia and Albania.

After moving up to League A, Ukrainian women will play exclusively friendly matches this fall, while they will find out their opponents in the World Cup 2027 qualifying tournament after the draw on November 4. The qualification for the World Cup will start in February and continue until the end of 2026.
