UEFA has published the format and calendar for the qualification and final stage of the women's European futsal championship, which will take place in March 2027.

According to official UEFA information, the women's European futsal championship will be held under a new format. Eight teams, rather than four as before, will participate in the final tournament, which takes place every four years.

The qualification for the women's Euro 2027 futsal championship consists of three stages: a main round, an elite round, and play-off matches. Croatia will host the final stage, which it has secured directly. The final tournament will take place in Osijek at the multi-purpose «Arena Gradski Vrt» stadium.

The draw for the main and elite rounds will take place on December 12. Some teams will start from the main round, others from the elite round. The distribution depends on the number of participants and UEFA's ranking for women's futsal national teams. Six teams will advance to the final tournament from the elite round, another spot will be decided in play-off matches.

Calendar for the women's Euro 2027 futsal championship

Qualification draw: December 12, 2025.

Main round: March 17–22, 2026.

Elite round: October 6–11, 2026.

Play-off matches: November 12–26, 2026.

Final stage draw: Date and time will be announced later.

Final tournament (Osijek, Croatia): March 14–21, 2027.

Format for the women's Euro 2027 futsal championship

Qualification

Main round

Participants will play in mini-tournaments on one arena in groups of three or four teams. Winners of the groups and, if necessary, the best runners-up advance to the elite round.

Elite round

Winners of the main round will join teams that have secured direct entry to the elite round. Sixteen teams will be divided into four groups of four teams each. Matches in the groups will take place in mini-tournament format on one arena. Four group winners and two best runners-up qualify for the final tournament. The remaining two best runners-up play off against each other.

Play-off matches

The last participant in the final tournament will be determined in two play-off matches. The team with the worst ranking from the elite round plays the first play-off match at home.

Final tournament

Croatia and seven teams that qualify through the qualification process will be divided into two groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals.
