For more than a week, our team has been preparing in Chile, conducting a friendly match against the Australian team, also a participant of the World Championship — 2:3. On September 23, the Ukrainian delegation moved to Valparaiso, where the blue-and-yellow will play their first two group matches. For the third round, they will return to Santiago.

The first opponent is South Korea's national team. As a reminder, it was precisely with the Koreans that Ukraine's team met in the final of the 2019 World Cup (U-20) and won — 3:1.

"South Korea is trying to play an intense vertical football, while their players actively occupy the opponent's penalty area. The Koreans make many flank passes and are very disciplined. In the last two tournaments, this team achieved high results. They were second in 2019 and fourth in 2023," — noted head coach of Ukraine's youth national team Dmytro Mykhaylenko.

The U-20 World Cup will take place from September 27 to October 19 in five cities of Chile: Valparaiso, Santiago, Viña del Mar, Rancagua and Talca. Twenty-four teams from six confederations will participate. Initially, they will compete in six quartets. The top two teams from each group, as well as the four best third-placed teams, will advance to the round of 16. From there on — according to a standard format.
