Today, the Ukraine youth national team played their opening match in the Euro 2027 (U-21) qualifying tournament against Lithuania.

The match took place in the city of Druskininkai at the "Druskininkai Stadium". In the first half, the teams exchanged dangerous shots from Jurionas and Tutyurov, but spectators did not see any goals.

The main events of the match unfolded after halftime. In the 69th minute, Synchuk passed to Krevsun, who scored against the opposing team's goal. Four minutes later, a pass from Krups'kyi on the right flank came under Corniychuk's strike, and he hit the lower left corner. And in the 77th minute, Synchuk won a penalty kick on the right wing of the penalty area, which he himself converted. The match ended with an accurate shot by Gadzhiev.

Thus, 4:0 in favor of the team coached by Dmitry Mykhaylenko. Their next match in the Euro-2027 (U-21) qualifiers will be on September 10 against Hungary.

In the final stage of Euro-2027 (U-21), 16 teams will participate: Albania, Serbia, and another 14 teams that join them based on the qualification results (nine group winners, the best team among second-place finishers, and four playoff winners from eight second-place finishers).

Euro-2027 (U-21) is planned to be held at four stadiums in Albania (Tirana, Shkodër, Elbasan, Rrogozhina), and four in Serbia (Novi Sad, Loznica, Leskovac, Zaječar). The opening match will take place in Serbia, the final — in Albania. It is worth noting that based on the results of Euro-2027 (U-21), UEFA zone participants for the 2028 Olympics will be determined.
