U-17: the composition of the Ukrainian youth team for participation in a friendly tournament in Croatia has been determined

Head coach of the Ukraine U-17 national team Oleksandr Sitnik has announced the names of players born in 2009 who will prepare for a training camp and an international tournament taking place in the Croatian city of Ludbreg from September 1 to 9.

Youth national team of Ukraine U-17 head coach Oleksandr Sitnik has announced the names of players born in 2009 who will prepare for a training camp and an international tournament to be held in the Croatian city of Ludbreg from September 1st to 9th.

The team's coach invited 25 players from 12 clubs to the camp.

Composition of the Ukrainian Youth National Team U-17

Goalkeepers: Dmytro Pozhar ("Dynamo" Kyiv), Denis Stolyarenko ("Legia", Poland), Oleksandr Stepanov ("Shakhtar" Donetsk).

Defenders: Matviy Sorochinsky ("Dynamo" Kyiv), Nazar Smotrytskyi, Roman Shupik (both - LNZ Chernihiv), Bohdan Levytskyi ("Rukh" Lviv), Markian Panchishyn ("Karpaty" Lviv), Nazariy Rudzei ("Borussia" D, Germany), Illia Yablonsky ("Sporting", Portugal), Denis Plyaminyskyi ("Hajduk", Croatia).

Recall that on December 5th in Nyon, Switzerland, the draw for the first round of qualification for Euro 2026 (U-17) took place. According to its results, the Ukrainian youth team ended up in Group 1 where it will face Italy, Montenegro and Estonia. The host of the mini-tournament will be Estonia.

Results of the draw for the first round of qualification for Euro 2026 (U-17)

Group 4: Spain, Denmark, Latvia, Andorra.

54 teams were divided into 12 groups of four participants and two groups of three participants. The host of the final tournament, Estonia's national team, will also participate in the qualification process.

Based on the results of the first round of qualifications, 14 group winners and 14 teams that finished second will advance to the second round of Group A. The remaining 26 teams will take part in the second round of Group B.

Teams advancing to the second round of qualification in Group A will compete for seven spots at Euro 2026 (U-17) in spring 2026. Estonia, as the host nation, has received an automatic berth. It should be noted that this qualification round is also a qualifying round for the CS 2026 (U-17) tournament in Qatar.

Furthermore, teams from both leagues of the second round of qualification will compete for promotion and relegation between leagues before the first round of Euro 2028 (U-19) qualifications.
