Today, in the return match of the third qualifying round of the Europa League, Donetsk's "Shakhtar" faced Greek "Panathinaikos" on their home ground.

The match in Krakow started with attacks from Shakhtar. On the 8th minute, Elias shot from inside the penalty area but the ball flew past the far post. Eleven minutes later, Bondarenko fouled a defender after which Pedro Henrique attempted to score but missed over the crossbar. In the 38th minute, N'Vortan aimed for the goal but was offside.

In the second half, Shakhtar continued to dominate. Ocheretyko, N'Vortan and Elias had chances to score. However, on the 82nd minute, Ocheretyko received his second yellow card and was sent off, immediately followed by a red card for coach Arda Turan due to excessive emotions.

The match ended in a goalless draw after regular time, and it went into extra time. No winner emerged there either, so the game proceeded to penalties. Panathinaikos prevailed (4-3) and advanced to the play-off round of the Europa League. Shakhtar will continue their fight in the Conference League.
