Today, August 1st, the new season of the Ukrainian Premier League-2025/2026 began. The program for the first round was opened by a match in Kovalyivka, where the local "Kolos" hosted "Krivybas."

The game turned out to be intense and goal-laden. Both goals were scored after set pieces — headers. In the first half, Mykita Burda opened the score, while in the middle of the second half, Tellles doubled the lead. On the last minute, "Krivybas" reduced the deficit through 17-year-old Oleksandr Kamenskyi, who scored his debut goal in the UPL — 2:1.

In another match of the day, newcomer to the elite division, FC "Poltava," met with "Ruh" in Lviv. In the first half, visitors scored — initially Eugene Misura put the ball into his own net, but six minutes later Maxim Marusich equalized. Midway through the second half, "Poltava" went down to ten men — Sviatoslav Shapovalov received a second yellow card. The hosts took advantage of their numerical superiority towards the end of the match — Vitaliy Roman scored the winning goal.
