Four national teams are participating in the Canadian Shield tournament: Canada, Ukraine, New Zealand and Côte d'Ivoire. Each team will play two matches.

The winner will be determined through all games: if a draw occurs after 90 minutes (plus any added time), a penalty shootout will be held.

According to the regulations, three points are awarded for a win, two points for winning in a penalty shootout and one point for losing in a penalty shootout.

The team with the most points at the end of all matches will be declared the tournament winner.
