According to the official UEFA website, the tournament format now includes new stages. Starting from the 2025/2026 season, the elite round with 16 teams will be abolished and replaced by a playoff system similar to that in major football.

Now home matches can be played not only by the hosts of four mini-tournaments but also by each of the 16 teams. The round of 1/8 finals and quarter-finals will consist of two matches — home and away. The final tournament, as before, will be held in the format of a "final four."

New Format

Participants (no changes)

As in the current format, each national association has the right to participate by entering one club plus a possible tournament winner. The top three associations with the highest positions in the UEFA national team ranking for futsal as of the end of April of the previous year will have the right to enter a second team. If the tournament winner is from one of the top three associations, then the association holding fourth place also has the right to enter a second participant.

For the 2025/2026 season, the ranking of national associations as of April 2024 will be taken into account. Portugal, Spain, Kazakhstan and Ukraine have the right to enter two teams each (it is confirmed that Ukraine, holding fourth place, will enter two teams since the tournament winner for 2024/2025 must come from Portugal, Spain or Kazakhstan).

The champion and teams holding positions one through eleven and sixteen through nineteen in the UEFA Champions League coefficient ranking participate in Group A of the main round. All other teams participate in the preliminary round or Group B of the main round (the exact number that qualifies directly to the main round depends on the rankings of the participants).

Preliminary Round (no changes)

Teams with the lowest UEFA ranking will participate in this round. They are divided into groups of four and, depending on the number of clubs in the round, three teams. Matches within these groups take place as mini-tournaments in one country. Winners of the groups (and possibly second-placed teams) advance to Group B of the main round.

Main Round (no changes)

Path A

This path includes the current champion and teams holding positions one through eleven and sixteen through nineteen in the UEFA Champions League coefficient ranking. They are divided into four groups of four teams, which play mini-tournaments in one country. The top three teams from each group advance to the round of 1/8 finals.

Path B

Teams that qualified in the preliminary round join teams participating directly in this round (including teams holding positions twelve through fifteen, which are the top seeds on this path). They are divided into four groups of four teams, which play mini-tournaments in one country. The winners of each group advance to the round of 1/8 finals.

Round of 16 (new format)

For the draw, two pots are created: winners of Group B and teams holding third places in Group A go into one pot, while the top two teams from each group in Path A — into another. In each two-legged tie, a team will come from each pot, with winners of Group B and teams holding third places in Group A being home for the first leg matches. The draw for the round of 16 also determines the playoff bracket for the entire subsequent tournament.

Quarter-finals (new format)

Quarter-finals will be played in two-legged ties. Theirwinners advance to the "final four," which is held in a designated country.

Final Four (no changes)

As now, the final tournament is a knockout tournament among four teams that lasts for three days, with semi-finals on one day and the final and third-place match two days later.

However, there will be no separate draw as now since the bracket is already determined earlier during the draw. The venue for the final tournament will now be chosen in advance rather than after determining the four participants.
