The Ukrainian U-20 national team (players born in 2005 or later) conducted a friendly match against their Norwegian counterparts during a training camp.

The wards of Dmitry Mykhaylichenko concluded their gathering in Turkey, where they played two friendlies in the city of Belek. This was one of the stages of preparation for the World Cup (U-20), which will take place in Chile in autumn 2025 and to which our team has qualified by reaching the semifinals of Euro 2024 (U-19) in Northern Ireland.

On March 22, blue-and-yellow played against Northern Ireland U-21 (1:0), and today, on the 25th, they met with Norway U-20. The Scandinavians are also participants in the upcoming World Cup.

The first half was quite dynamic, though not rich in moments. On the 12th minute, Matveychuk outmaneuvered Ponomarenko and scored past the near post. Later, Shakh failed to convert a dangerous cross from Husev. One can also recall an inaccurate shot by Gadzhiev. The Norwegians tested Krapivtsov with a direct free-kick just before halftime.

The Ukrainians started the second half quite well, with Vashchenko scoring from a rebound and Matveychuk taking an audacious shot from distance. On the 62nd minute, blue-and-yellow squandered another chance — Dytchar earned a penalty, but Matveychuk failed to beat the goalkeeper.

The Norwegians responded with their own moment — after a direct free-kick, the ball hit the crossbar of Krapivtsov's goal. Then Salenko headed in from a corner kick, but the goalkeeper made a save. The next chance belonged to the Scandinavians, and once again, after a direct free-kick, the ball struck the crossbar.

On the 78th minute, our team scored — after a cross from deep, the ball rebounded off an opponent to Godya, who turned and scored accurately. The Norwegians tried to equalize but the match ended in victory for blue-and-yellow — 1:0.
