In January, the Ukrainian Football Association celebrated the anniversary of Andriy Shevchenko's election as president of the UAF, nominated him as a candidate for UEFA Executive Committee membership, and «Shakhtar» and «Dynamo» completed their European Cup campaigns. January 2. The legend of Ukrainian football, former star goalkeeper of Kyiv's «Dynamo» and the national team Oleksandr Shovkovsky celebrated his 50th birthday. The Ukrainian Football Association congratulated the celebrant, wishing him peace and health.
