According to the draw results for the European qualification of the 2026 World Cup, the Ukraine national team qualified into Group D, where they will play against France — Croatia (quarter-finalists of Nations League-2024/2025), Iceland, and Azerbaijan.
The coach of the Croatian national team, who could potentially be a rival for Ukraine, Zlatko Dalic, commented on the draw results, reports the official website of the HNS.
"It's an ungrateful task to comment on such an unusual draw when we don't know who we will actually be playing against. Perhaps at first glance Group D looks more uncomfortable, considering a very strong Ukraine and two long trips to Iceland and Azerbaijan. But there are also quality and ambitious teams in both groups that want to qualify for the World Cup,"— said Zlatko Dalic.
