In Ivano-Frankivsk, the UAF held the second children's tournament "Cup of Development"

December 7-8 in Ivano-Frankivsk, the Ukrainian Football Association held a youth football tournament called "Cup of Development" for the age category U-13 (players born in 2012).

December 7-8 in Ivano-Frankivsk, the Ukrainian Football Association held a children's football tournament called "Development Cup" for the U-13 age group (players born in 2012).

The innovative format of the 11-a-side tournament on a shortened field measuring 80x60 meters was introduced to create conditions in which players have more opportunities to interact with the ball, increase the number of game situations for quick decision-making and transition phases as well as attacks on the opponent's goal, and reduce physical exertion.

The goal of the association is to improve the skill level of young football players through such tournaments based on fair play principles — in a positive atmosphere, without displays of aggression or pressure from either the players, coaches, parents, or fans.

Six teams participated in the competition: DYSKH "Revera 1908" (Ivano-Frankivsk), FC "Boho" (Bogodochany), DYFK "Nika-05" (Ivano-Frankivsk), FA "Ruh" (Ivano-Frankivsk), DYSKH "Kalush" (Kalush) and OFSH "Sparta" (Outini).

"After the first 'Development Cup' in Kyiv, we received a lot of positive feedback and requests to hold similar competitions in regions. Speaking with coaches, we indeed see that the tournament is beneficial for both children and their mentors. One of the problems we face in the regions is that there are not enough children in small towns. It's great that under such conditions, coaches do a tremendous job, they work with children, giving them the opportunity to pursue their passion and develop." — comments Bogdan Hordyniuk, head of the children's and youth football department at the UFA.
