The FIFA Council adopted several important decisions regarding competitions under the organization's auspices ahead of the extraordinary FIFA Congress.

Yes, the FIFA Council has confirmed that the Women's World Cup in Brazil in 2027 will take place from June 24 to July 25, according to the official FIFA website.
This decision was made after consultations with the Brazilian Football Confederation and all world confederations. Of the 32 spots available, 29 direct qualifications will be distributed as follows:
- Europe — 11;
- Asia — 6;
- Africa — 4;
- CONCACAF — 4;
- South America — 3 (Brazil qualifies automatically from this quota);
- Oceania — 1.
The last three teams will be determined in a playoff tournament involving ten national teams. It will consist of two stages with the following quotas:
- Europe — 1;
- Asia — 2;
- Africa — 2;
- CONCACAF — 2;
- South America — 2;
- Oceania — 1.
The first stage of the playoff tournament will take place in November-December 2026, and the second stage will be held in February 2027.
In addition, the FIFA Council confirmed that the U-17 World Cup in Qatar in 2025, which will feature 48 teams, will take place from November 5 to November 27.
