Today, August 22, Oleksandr Kosenko's wards will start their performance at the international tournament in Portugal with a match against Costa Rica (start - 10:30 PM Kyiv time).

The blue-and-yellow team continues to prepare for the final stage of the World Championship, which will take place from September 14 to October 6 in three cities of Uzbekistan - Andijan, Bukhara, and Tashkent.

On August 12, the Ukrainian national team for futsal began a training camp in Uzhhorod. From there, they headed to Portugal, where they will participate in a four-team tournament taking place in Viseu city. There, the blue-and-yellow team will face teams from Costa Rica, Cuba, and hosts (all four teams are participants of the 2024 World Cup). After this, our national team will travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina for two more friendly matches.

"I believe these are good opponents for us. It may seem that Cuba and Costa Rica on paper do not look very strong, but each national team has at least five to six players of extremely high level. Portugal is obviously the world champion. I like the selection of opponents. These games are very beneficial, and they are well chosen in line with our group rivals at the World Cup, Angola and Afghanistan," — said head coach Oleksandr Kosenko ahead of the start of the training camp.
