June 1 marks the start of the European Championship for players with amputated limbs. The Ukrainian team has been placed in Group A, where they will play against teams from France, Spain, and Belgium.

Ahead of the tournament's kickoff, the national teams were greeted by legendary Ukrainian footballer Oleg Luzhnyi, head of the Professional Football Committee at the UAF.

"You understand that there is no other goal but to win, as you represent Ukraine during a difficult time for our country. I believe that the key to victory lies in your belief in yourselves. I think all of you are in great shape. However, the group is tough. But the coach says we can win. Believe me, we will do everything to make you happy. I wish you victory, success, luck, and good health!"— said Oleg Luzhnyi.

It is worth noting that the European Championship for players with amputated limbs will take place in France from June 1 to 8. In total, 16 teams will compete.

EURO-2024 for Players with Amputated Limbs

Group A: France, Spain, Ukraine, Belgium.

Group B: England, Italy, Georgia, Netherlands.

Group C: Turkey, Ireland, Israel, Azerbaijan.

Group D: Poland, Germany, Greece, Scotland.
