Forward of Turkish "Fenerbahçe" and Bosnia and Herzegovina national team Edin Džeko evaluated the readiness of his teammates for the 1/2 final playoff qualification match for the 2024 European Championship against Ukraine, reports the official website of the Football Federation of BiH.

"It's good that most players are in competitive form. They play significant roles at their clubs. This is one of the prerequisites for a good result. And it will be easier for the coach to prepare the team when he has players who are in competitive rhythm. As for qualification chances, they exist regardless of the opponent's name.

Of course, Ukraine is a tough opponent. We had the opportunity to measure our strength against them and know what to expect. But we play at home, in front of our fans, and we have chances to advance further. I think that the game should be tough rather than pleasant to watch, with a lot of movement, collisions, and tactical adjustments. I am sure that we will do everything possible to qualify for the Euros to please our fans as well as ourselves because we want to play in major tournaments."

In addition, the Bosnian forward commented on the Ukrainian team: "They have several excellent individuals whose form is fantastic. Most of them play for strong European clubs, and as a team, they are very cohesive. The most challenging line in the national team is the midfield, where the most experienced players compete. It's precisely in the middle that we will face our toughest battle. This is an experienced team with players who know how to get out of pressure situations, and this experience also benefits the Ukrainian national team."

Recall that the 1/2 final playoff match for Euro-2024 qualification between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ukraine will take place on March 21 at Zenica's "Bilino Polje" stadium.
