Poltava "Vorskla" conceded to Italian "Roma" in the second round match of the Women's Champions League 2023/2024 and concluded their participation in the tournament.
In the first leg of the second round of the Women's Champions League, "Vorskla" in Rome conceded to Italian "Roma" with a score of 0:3. Due to known circumstances, Nataliya Zinchenko's team played their nominal home match at the same stadium "Tre Fontane" in the capital of Italy.
As in the first encounter, the Roman players firmly controlled the initiative from the opening minutes and were constantly searching for gaps in our defense. The Ukrainians successfully defended for some time, but on the 35th minute Evelina V'jens finally broke the deadlock.
A glimmer of hope for the blue-and-yellow team flashed immediately after halftime when Nikole Kozlova managed to equalize at 1-1 in the 50th minute. However, the guests quickly regained their lead through Barbara Latorre's efforts. After this, Roma's advantage became even greater, and Lucía Di Giulio's brace along with two own goals by Yana Kotik sealed the result of the match—6:1 for "Roma".
Thus, according to the results of the two-legged tie, "Roma" advanced to the group stage of the Women's Champions League, while "Vorskla" concluded their European season.
We remind you that "Kryvbas" ended its campaign in the first round where within Group 3 of the Path they conceded to French "Paris" (0:4) and Swedish "Lynköping" (0:3).
