Yesterday, the Ukraine national team held an evening training session at the FC «Sparta» training center. The conditions were not particularly favorable — windy with rain and temperatures no higher than 15 degrees. Defender Vitaliy Mykolenko shared his impressions of working in the squad.

“This is normal football weather. Today, some players were still recovering, while others had full training sessions. Not all players have arrived at our camp yet. Svatok and Riznik haven't arrived yet, so the match theory against North Macedonia and analysis of the game with Italy will start tomorrow. Then the real full preparation begins.

When Italy played against Macedonia in Skopje, the field was indeed in poor condition, but ours wasn't much better. This wasn't the reason for such a tough match against them, but rather our play. However, we still managed to secure a victory back then. For the upcoming match, I believe each player and coaching staff will draw conclusions and approach this game with new tactics.

As for Nazariy Rusin — he is indeed my good friend. I hope that his second call-up to the national team will give him confidence. I believe he can help our team. Everyone comes here to contribute to the common cause and earn three points in the next game.” — Vitaliy Mykolenko said.

Reminder, the Euro 2024 qualifier match between Ukraine and North Macedonia will take place on October 14th in Prague (kickoff at 16:00 Kyiv time). The game against Malta will be held on October 17th at the National Stadium in Ta' Qali (kickoff at 21:45 Kyiv time).
