The Premier League of Nations by the European Federation of Football for teams composed of amputee players will take place from October 6 to 8 in Blankenberge, Belgium.

This tournament consists of four divisions that are held in four different countries. The League of Nations also serves as a qualifying tournament for the European Championship in France in 2024.

The national team of Ukraine will participate in this tournament. Within Division C, the Ukrainian team will play matches against Greece (October 6), Belgium (October 7), Georgia, and Israel (October 8).

The winner of the group qualifies for Division B, while the team that finishes last is relegated to Division D.

It should be noted that four military servicemen who are either currently serving or have been discharged after sustaining severe injuries as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion are part of Ukraine's team. The UAF has taken on the responsibility of fully equipping and organizing the preparation of the team for the competition.

"The participation of Heroes of the Armed Forces in football competitions at this level is a matter of honor and great responsibility for the UAF regarding the rehabilitation and social integration of our soldiers into civilian life. The UAF already has experience in supporting the rehabilitation of our defenders, including launching the 'Unconquered Cup' as early as 2018."

The national association plans to organize a training center for veterans with a sports hall and restorative medicine at the V. Bannikov National Training Center. Throughout the summer, and continuing into the fall, soldiers who sustained severe injuries while defending Ukraine have been undergoing and will continue to undergo training supported by the UAF. This includes players of the national team who are about to participate in the League of Nations.

Additionally, with support from state leadership and relevant ministries, the UAF will assist in establishing teams of players with disabilities at the regional level to ultimately launch a full-fledged Ukrainian championship. We want our defenders to be able to return to normal life through football and have the opportunity to maintain their athletic form," — noted First Vice President of the UAF Vadim Kostyuchenko.
