The new European selection of Ukrainian women's national team will start under the guidance of a new coach. We remind you that on August 31, the contract term of the Spanish expert Luis Cortés expired, who became the first foreign coach in the history of Ukraine’s women's national team. Thus, the new season will begin with Volodymyr Pyatenko fulfilling the duties of head coach.

On September 17, our team gathered in Kyiv and then traveled to Poland for preparation and participation in the first two matches of the group stage of the inaugural League of Nations tournament. On the 18th, the Ukrainian delegation arrived in Gdansk, and from Monday to Thursday, the team worked at a base in Sopot, combining training sessions with theoretical lessons.

We remind you that 23 players have been included in the national team's squad, and for the first time, three players were invited to the national team — Yana Kotik, Iryna Mayboroda, and Viktoriya Golovach.

“The League of Nations is a very relevant format for international competitions today. Previously, there were friendly matches and tournaments, but in this system, the teams have much higher motivation. Because from the League of Nations, a team can qualify for the European Championship. Such a tournament is hard to overestimate. We have a good selection of opponents in our group. Poland's national team includes players who are key figures in Germany’s league. But we are ready to give them a fight. Everything will depend on which team approaches each game better functionally, tactically, and psychologically,” — said the head coach of Ukraine's women's national team Volodymyr Pyatenko.

We remind you that our girls will play in Group C3, where they will compete against teams from Poland, Serbia, and Greece.

The first round match Ukraine — Serbia will take place today, September 22, in the Polish town of Starogard Gdański at Kazimierz Deyna Municipal Stadium (kick-off at 16:00 Kyiv time). A live broadcast of the game can be watched on the YouTube channel of the Ukrainian Football Association.

The second round match Poland — Ukraine will take place on September 26 (19:00). It will be held at the Municipal Stadium in Gdynia.

All group stage matches will be played according to a standard format — home and away against each opponent in the group. Three points will be awarded for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for a loss.

The top two teams in each group remain in League A for qualification to the European Championship 2025.

Four teams that finish third will play against four teams that finished second in League B. Winners of these matches will stay in League A; teams that lose will drop to League B.

Teams finishing fourth will be relegated to League B.

League B

Four group winners advance to League A.

Four teams that finish second will play against four teams that finished third in League A. Winners of these matches will stay in League A; teams that lose will drop to League B.

Three best teams finishing third will play against three best teams finishing second in League C. Winners of these matches will remain in League B for qualification; losing teams will be relegated to League C.

The team with the lowest ranking among those that finished third and four teams that finished fourth will drop to League C.

League C

Five group winners advance to League B.

Three best teams finishing second will play against three best teams finishing third in League B. Winners of these matches will remain in League B for qualification; losing teams will drop to League C.

Other teams stay in League C.

Matches for promotion/relegation

Pairs are drawn, and home and away matches are played within each pairing. Teams finishing third in their groups are seeded and play the return leg at home.
