The central match of the 8th round in Group B took place in Petrov, where favorite "Inguless" hosted main rival "Viktoriya". The hosts were very eager to take revenge on their opponents for a recent defeat in the Ukrainian Cup.

However, at the 37th minute, their position worsened when midfielder Sidorenko was sent off for a second yellow card. Nevertheless, this only added to the determination of coach Vladyslav Lupashok's team. In the second half, they, playing with fewer players, forced the goalkeeper of "Viktoriya" to concede three goals.

First, after a corner kick, Pyatov scored with a precise header. Then Bogunov increased the hosts' lead from a penalty kick. And Koltsov sealed the victory by converting another penalty — 3:0. Now the team from Petrov has distanced themselves from "Viktoriya", who suffered their first defeat, by seven points.

The leader of Group A, "Karpaty," feels confident on the tournament distance as well. The latest victory was over "Podillya," which this experienced coach once led.

Lvivians took the lead after a perfectly executed counterattack, finished off by Kostenko's powerful shot. Podolyans equalized unexpectedly — following a long-range shot from Tsybulnyk. The decisive moment for "Karpaty" came when Demchenko entered as a substitute. It was in his duel that guest captain Prykhna committed a foul, and Pologenko converted the resulting penalty to set the final score at 2:1.

Since the main pursuer, "Niva" from Buzhak, failed to win again (0:0), "Karpaty" increased their lead to six points.

Finally, it's worth noting newcomer to the first league, "Khust," which has now won two consecutive home matches, this time against Ternopil "Niva" (2:0), significantly improving its tournament position.
