Head coach of the Ukrainian women's beach soccer team, Yuriy Klimenko, announced the squad and talked about the tasks facing his players at the EuroLeague Super Final 2023.

This year's EuroLeague Super Final sees our girls playing in Group C alongside Portugal and the Netherlands. Coach of the blue-and-yellow team, Yuriy Klimenko, is counting on 10 players for the tournament.

Field players: Mariia Tikhonova, Yuliia Dektiar, Yuliia Kostenko, Myroslava Vipasnyak, Olena Kyrylchuk, Anastasiia Kliapachenko, Iryna Dubitska, Snizhana Volovenko.

The head coach of the Ukrainian team also spoke about the tasks facing our team at the tournament. 

"We are forced to travel to Sardinia with a slightly incomplete squad — 10 girls instead of 12. The reason is that due to the cancellation of the World Beach Games in Bali this year, our players' plans changed somewhat. We did not have the right to hold them back. Three athletes signed contracts for football here in Ukraine. Two girls went to play futsal in Spain, two — in Portugal, one — in Poland. And those who stayed in Kyiv are currently playing in local futsal teams.

Therefore, unfortunately, we will not be able to organize a full pre-tournament training camp before the EuroLeague. But it's good that we fly to Italy three days before the start of the games, so when everyone gets there, there will be time for several joint trainings and a preparatory microcycle.

The task facing our team is very simple — to win EuroLeague medals, and ideally — the highest category. As for the group opponents, the draw was quite normal for us. I believe that we have all the chances to advance to the semi-finals and fight for medals,"— said Yuriy Klimenko.

Recall that the EuroLeague 2023 Super Final will take place from September 19th to 24th on Sardinia, Italy, in the town of Alghero.

Group A: Italy, Czech Republic, Sweden.

Group B: Spain, England, Poland.

Group C: Portugal, Ukraine, Netherlands.

The Ukrainian team will start the tournament on September 21st with a match against the Netherlands, and on the 22nd they will play against Portugal. Three group winners and the best of the teams that finish second will advance to the semi-finals. 

The Ukrainian men's beach soccer team will not participate in the EuroLeague Super Final 2023 due to the participation of a Belarusian team with national symbols.
