The fourth team in the preliminary draw of the UPL, Kyiv Dynamo, made its debut in the League of Nations qualifier with a away game against Greek Aris in Thessaloniki.

In the first half, the hosts had the upper hand in terms of moments and took several inaccurate shots. However, they only had one real scoring chance on 24 minutes when Moberg-Karlsson hit Dubynchak after a mistake by the Ukrainians in defense. Overall, there was more fighting and emotion on the field.

In the second half, both teams played evenly for quite some time. However, at 65 minutes Aris created another moment – Bushchan saved from Dariđa's header from a few meters out. Shortly after, though, the Greeks earned a penalty and Palma opened the scoring in the match.

Dynamo had an opportunity to level the score at 75 minutes but after a great combination by Shaparenko he shot wide of the post. Late in the game Yarmolenko found himself in a shooting position inside the penalty area, but Aris' goalkeeper saved again. It's worth noting Bushchan’s save from Mendes’ shot in stoppage time as well. So, ultimately, the Greeks managed to maintain their winning score – 1:0.

The match featured players from Dynamo who were called up for the latest national team training camp: Bushchan, Timchik (yellow card), Sidorchuk (substituted at 82 minutes), Yarmolenko, Boyalyskyi.
