Our country is represented at these championships by two teams — the champion of Ukraine among male student teams, the college of physical education (Ivano-Frankivsk), and the women's team of the Mykhailo Drahomanov National Pedagogical University of Ukraine (Kyiv), which is the holder of the Ukrainian Cup among women's student teams, according to the press service of the Football Federation of Ukraine.

The last European championship among higher education institutions took place in 2019 in Braga, Portugal. At that time, the women's team of the Mykhailo Drahomanov National Pedagogical University of Ukraine won bronze medals, while the men's team from the V. Karazin Kharkiv National University became a silver medalist.

In 2022, football competitions among higher education institutions were part of the European Universities Games held in Lodz, Poland. Then, the women's team from the V. Karazin Kharkiv National Economic University won a silver medal, while the men's team from the V. Karazin Kharkiv National University secured fifth place.

It is worth noting that at this year's European championship among higher education institutions, two referees from Ukraine will be working — Mariia Mislovskaa (Sumy) and Taras Dem’ianchuk (Ivano-Frankivsk).
