About 20 military servicemen who defended Ukraine from Russian occupiers and were injured managed to support the country's main team in a match against Malta in Euro-2024 qualification. The organization of this trip is a joint initiative of the Ukrainian Football Association and Oleksandr Usyk's Charity Fund.

We remind you that this is already the second trip for soldiers to a national team match organized by the UAF and Usyk's Charity Fund. Earlier, on September 27, 2022, another group of military personnel supported the team in a match against Scotland within the UEFA Nations League-2022/2023 tournament. The initiative is one of the social support measures for our soldiers who are undergoing rehabilitation and recovery after injuries sustained during combat with Russian occupiers.

"After military operations on the Eastern front, to be able to take a break like this is incredible!"— Roman from the 24th OMBr named after King Daniel, who is recovering from an injury received in the combat zone and visited the national association's match as invited guests for Ukraine-Malta Euro-2024 qualification in Trnava, shared his emotions with the UAF.

Roman himself, according to his words, played football in school and only managed to attend a stadium where a football match is held for the second time in his life. The first time was after Russian aggression on Donbas and the beginning of ATO when he managed to watch Donetsk derby in Ukraine's championship "Shakhtar" — "Metallurg" at "Lviv Arena."

Roman sincerely rejoices in the victory of Ukraine's team over Malta's team: "Victories are needed not only on the front but also in sports. Any victories that glorify Ukraine are important! We have many guys serving in rear battalions who care about the national team, interested in how our footballers are doing. They just turn on football on their phones and set up a makeshift cinema."
