Ukraine national team goalkeeper Anatolii Trubin summed up the June matches of the blue-and-yellow after their victory over Malta (1:0) in Euro-2024 qualification.

"After losing to England, it was very important for us to win these two games, which we did. This is crucial for our confidence and goals. We will work hard so that in the upcoming matches against England and Italy, we can also earn points and aim to advance further."

In the match with Malta, it was a bit tough because it was very hot, only two days after the game with North Macedonia. This is also challenging on the negative side. But we managed to overcome ourselves because you don't have the right to think that it's hard when you put on the national team jersey. You need to give your all, which we did. I would have liked to score more and win a bit more confidently. But 1:0 is also a good score, three points for us.

Now we are traveling with the boys to Austria, from where we fly to Bucharest to join the youth team's training camp.

This is tough. I remember such a schedule only once when playing against Scotland. Then there was a match of the U-21 team against Slovakia in one day. Of course, this is very difficult, and it should not be like this, but all those boys who want to play at the youth Euros from the national team's training camp fully understand everything. Yes, the season is long and tough, but we want to help our country," Trubin said.

We add that Ukraine's youth team will start Euro-2023 (U-21) with a match against Croatia in Bucharest on June 21 (kickoff at 7 PM Kyiv time).
