At the Euro 2024 qualifier match between Ukraine and Malta taking place today, June 19, in Slovakia, there will be around 50 relatives of football fans who died in the war present.

These are children, wives, and parents of those who were the most devoted supporters of their favorite clubs and the national team, and who also bravely stood up to defend Ukraine at the onset of Russia's full-scale aggression. The trip for these heroes' relatives was organized by the Ukrainian Football Association in cooperation with "The Heroes Tribune."

As of today, "The Heroes Tribune" provides support to the families of 179 deceased representatives of ultra groups from all over Ukraine. The UFA considers it an honor to be part of their support efforts. It is important for us to remember each of our defenders and help their families. Today at the match between Ukraine and Malta, relatives of war-deceased ultras will continue their cause by cheering on the Ukrainian team in Trnava.

Also, the Ukrainian Football Association in cooperation with Oleksandr Usyk's Charitable Foundation, which is an ambassador of Ukraine's national team, organized a trip for nearly 20 military personnel who received injuries while defending Ukraine’s independence to attend the match between Ukraine and Malta. This trip for our soldiers to watch the national team game is one of the support measures for their social rehabilitation that are being implemented by the UFA in cooperation with Oleksandr Usyk's Foundation.

We remind you that during a friendly match between Germany and Ukraine on June 12 in Bremen, the UFA invited a group of soldiers who are currently undergoing treatment for their injuries in Germany.

We remind you that on May 12, during a meeting between Andriy Pavelko and the co-founder of "The Heroes Tribune," Tikhon Amosov, an agreement was reached to organize trips for relatives of deceased soldiers to national team matches. "This way we aim to pay tribute to football fan-soldiers and maintain a special connection between their families and football. Additionally, there is an initiative that will be presented to the UFA Executive Committee - in the next season of the Ukrainian championship, funds from disciplinary decisions by the UFA should be directed towards the 'Heroes Tribune' Foundation. We separately agreed with Tikhon on actively involving children of deceased heroes in various UFA sports events. It's a great honor for us to be part of this noble social mission," Andriy Pavelko noted at that time.
