A team of Ukrainian football players with childhood cerebral palsy won gold medals at a continental championship.

The Paralympic team of Ukraine became the strongest in Europe during the tournament held from June 2–10 in Italy.

Throughout the tournament, Ukrainian football players secured first place in Group B, defeating Germany (8:2), Scotland (8:2), and Ireland (6:2). In the semifinals, blue-and-yellow overcame Spain (4:2), and in the decisive match they routed England (3:0). Goals in the final were scored by Ivan Donenko, Sergei Bedenok, and Anton Balakay.

Third place went to the Spaniards who defeated Ireland (4:0).

Champions of Europe in the national team are: Bohdan Dembik, Stanislav Podolsky, Vitaliy Romanchuk, Artem Shermet, Ivan Donenko, Sergei Bedenok, Bohdan Kulynych, Dmytro Khrapets, Anton Balakay, Oleg Len’, Edgar Khagramanyan, Yaroslav Chernysh, Artem Krasylnikov, Ivan Skvarlo. Coach – Serhiy Ovcharenko.

It should be noted that the Paralympic team of Ukraine became European champions for the sixth time in history (1999, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2023). Also our team is the current champion of the World Championship, which it has also won six times (2001, 2003, 2009, 2013, 2017, 2022).
